Born and raised in Columbia, Missouri, Sarah has spent several years after in both the Los Angeles and Chicago areas with her husband of 15 years, Justin. She initially earned an A.A. in Commercial Photography from Santa Monica College, before completing her B.S. in Personal Financial Planning from the University of Missouri. With a professional background in Financial Planning and Operations, Sarah is glad to have found a home with Mountain Shadows to apply these ideas to and help move forward the wonderful mission of the school.

Sarah has a joyful 3-year-old daughter Olivia, and happy infant son Silas, and came to Montessori while Olivia was a newborn through a friend opening a Montessori community space in their town. She quickly fell in love with the Montessori philosophies, and has been so delighted in seeing Olivia’s confidence, love of learning, and capabilities grow over time with the consistency of this loving approach.

Sarah has deeply enjoyed her grounding yoga practice, and spends most of her time having fun with her young family both in and outside the home, along with their sweet Australian Shepherd Chloe. With a recent relocation to Colorado, you’ll likely fund them exploring neighborhoods and trails in the area on the weekends to find their favorite spots.
