Kyle Phibbs (He/Him)
Elementary Assistant Guide
Serving Mountain Shadows since 2024
Kyle Phibbs, a Colorado native, is a passionate and dedicated educator with a diverse background spanning many subjects and disciplines. Most recently he spent nearly three years living and teaching English in Kochi, Japan. His time in Japan taught him a lot about systems of education, which ultimately led him to the start of his Montessori journey.
Kyle will begin his AMI Elementary training at The Montessori Institute in Denver starting this September while also receiving practical mentorship from Joni and Madhavi as he assists their classroom environments. He is thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful community and team of educators. He is looking forward to connecting with the students, parents, and the beautiful landscape around the school.
Kyle studied Theatre at Colorado State University and hopes to bring his love of theatre into the classroom, inspiring the children of Mountain Shadows to create and perform their own works. He has been involved in theatre from a very young age and has experience in acting, writing, and directing, as well as costume and scenic design.
As a lifelong lover of animals, Kyle spent his summers in high school volunteering at the Denver Zoo, so he’s always ready to share an interesting animal fact with anyone who will listen. He’s had many pets in his life and enjoys caring for creatures great and small.
In his free time, Kyle enjoys a wide variety of hobbies and activities, including origami, cooking, cycling, and learning languages, among others. He gained intermediate proficiency in Japanese during his time spent in Japan and is currently learning Spanish as well. He enjoys traveling and hopes to use his language skills to connect with people all over the world.
