In Montessori, the Planes of Development describe how children grow and develop from birth through young adulthood. The Planes encompass four distinct periods in a person’s life, prenatal-6 years (infancy), 6-12 years (childhood), 12-18 years (adolescence), and 18-24 years (maturity). With each plane comes unique characteristics and needs. Dr. Montessori observed that complete development, reaching full potential, happens only if the child’s developmental needs are met before moving on to the next plane. Join us to learn how the developmental needs of your child are met in our Montessori classrooms and how they will build a strong foundation for lifelong learning. We will focus on the first and second planes of development and Elementary students will be presenting their work.
