Upon learning that President Obama reads letters every night, two fifth year elementary students recently wrote to President Obama, expressing why they support his policies including better pay for women, containing the cost of college education, focusing on improving children’s health, and protecting the environment. They shared information about their own studies at Mountain Shadows and included two pencil drawings of the White House from different perspectives. In response, the students received a package from the President that included a thank you letter in appreciation of their writing, a picture of President Obama, a picture of the First Family’s dog – Beau, and a map of The White House.
